Lawyers Gyan Journal of Law and Multidisciplinary Issues are pleased to announce a Call for Chapters for an upcoming book titled “Cyber Law and Constitution: Protecting Privacy and Security in the Digital World” This book aims to provide a comprehensive examination of the legal landscape surrounding the digital space, focusing on privacy and security issues. With the rapid growth of technology and the internet, Cyber Law has become increasingly critical in shaping the rules that govern our digital lives. This book seeks to explore these issues through insightful contributions from experts in the field.

Scope and Objectives

The book will cover various aspects of Cyber Law, with a particular focus on how legal frameworks protect privacy and security in the digital age. It aims to provide a multi-disciplinary perspective on the subject, incorporating viewpoints from law, policy, technology, and ethics. We welcome original, unpublished contributions that provide new insights, innovative ideas, and critical analysis of current legal issues in the realm of cyber law.

Suggested Topics

We invite scholars, legal practitioners, researchers, and experts in Cyber Law, privacy, and digital security to contribute chapters on the following suggested topics. However, we are open to additional topics that align with the book’s theme:

  1. Data Privacy Laws and Global Standards: Analysis of international privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and their implications for businesses and individuals.
  2. Cybercrime and Law Enforcement: Examination of cybercrime types, legal responses, and the role of digital forensics in combating online criminal activities.
  3. Intellectual Property in the Digital Environment: Challenges and solutions in protecting digital content, software, and other intellectual property in cyberspace.
  4. E-commerce and Consumer Protection: Legal issues surrounding online transactions, consumer rights, and fraud prevention measures.
  5. Legal Recognition of Digital Contracts and E-signatures: The enforceability of digital agreements and the legal frameworks governing electronic transactions.
  6. Cybersecurity Legislation and Corporate Compliance: Best practices for businesses to comply with cybersecurity laws and protect against data breaches.
  7. Internet Governance and Censorship: The role of national and international bodies in regulating the internet, freedom of speech, and content control.
  8. The Impact of Emerging Technologies on Privacy and Security: How technologies like AI, IoT, and blockchain are reshaping privacy concerns and what legal frameworks are necessary to address these issues.
  9. Digital Rights Management and Ethical Considerations: Balancing user rights with content protection, ethical considerations in surveillance, and data use.
  10. Role of Cyber Law in National and International Security: Legal implications of cyber warfare, state-sponsored cyber-attacks, and the need for international cooperation.
  11. The list is not exhaustive you can write on any other topic of cyber law but it should be well written and show some value.

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstract Submission: Interested contributors are requested to submit an abstract of approximately 300-500 words outlining their proposed chapter. The abstract should clearly state the topic, objectives, methodology, and potential contributions to the field of Cyber Law.
  • Full Chapter Submission: Upon acceptance of the abstract, authors will be invited to submit a full chapter. Chapters should typically range from 3,000 to 7,000 words.
  • Formatting Requirements: The main body of the manuscript should be in Times New Roman style, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing and footnotes in Times New Roman Style, Size 10, with 1.0 line spacing. All headings must have uniform formatting. Texts and footnotes should conform to a uniform citation format. Eg: Bluebook 20th Edition or ILI Footnoting Style.
  • Language: The book will be published in English. All submissions should be in clear, scholarly English.
  • Deadline: Please submit your manuscript along with a cover letter to lawyersgyan@gmail.com with the subject line “Current Issue No. [x], Submission: [insert full chapter submission deadline] by [Author Name].”
    • In case of any difficulty in filling the submission form, the authors can submit their manuscript via email lawyersgyan@gmail.com with a declaration to the following effect:
      • Declaration: “I/we declare that the manuscript is an original and previously unpublished work written by me/us. I/we would be solely responsible for any dispute arising out of my/our manuscript including copyright, defamation, objectionable content or contempt and agree to suffer the loss, if any, caused by violating copyright or any other rights.” 
  • Review Process: All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality and relevance of the content.
  • Publication: Selected chapters will be published in the book, which will be available in both print and digital formats. Authors of selected chapters will be acknowledged and credited in the publication.

Note: Upon submission, the manuscript shall be the property of LGJLH. Henceforth, the articles accepted for publication shall not be cross-published/republished. Such cross-publishing/republishing shall require the prior consent of the author(s).

Publication Details 

The edited book will be published by reputed publisher bearing ISBN number to ensure proper identification and availability. There will be minimum PUBLICATION CHARGES of Rs. 400/- per author and Rs. 600 for two authors and Rs. 800 for three authors.

About the Editors 

Lawyers Gyan Journal of Law and Multidisciplinary Issues and its editorial board consisting of Adv. Pringle Singh is working as an Advocate at Allahabad High Court Lucknow Bench. Dr. Vishesh Bhardwaj is working as a Assistant Professor in Department of Law at SRM University and Mr. Kuldeep Yadav is working as Assistant Professor of Law in Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University, Lucknow. The book belongs to the area of academic interests of the editors.
